View from Cole’s Monument
I’m delighted to share my latest painting just completed ‘View from Cole’s Monument’.
It’s acrylics on a 30cm by 50cm canvas.
I loved painting all the buildings, adding as much detail as possible. The trees were then added mainly using painting knives to add texture to the piece.
I worked from my own reference photos taken following a trip up Cole’s Monument the end of September last year, hence the beautiful Autumnal coloured trees.
Cole’s Monument
Standing tall and prominent,
in Forthill Park Cole’s Monument.
The column hiding 108 steep steps up and round,
until you are 30 metres from the ground.
Mind your head as you go through the door,
stepping onto the viewing platform floor.
