Enniskillen Island Town Happy Prince inspired Giclee Print "I Will Stay With You Always"

“I Will Stay With You Always”

Inspired by Oscar Wilde's Happy Prince tale.

After the swallow gave the Happy Prince's second sapphire eye to the little match-girl he vowed to stay with the Happy Prince forever. The next day he sat on the Prince's shoulder and told him tales of Egypt and far away places.

The swallow is sat on the shoulder of Cole's Monument in Forthill Park in Enniskillen. I've given the monument a touch of gold in honour of the tale. The background is one of the views you get from the top of the Monument. I chose this particular section of the 360 degree view as it includes Portora School where Oscar Wilde is thought to have got the inspiration for this tale as he could see the monument from his dormitory window.
