Original Irish Landscape Painting - 'I Will Stay With You Always" - Enniskillen Island Town

An original painting of a scene from Oscar Wilde’s Happy Prince tale interpreted with the backdrop of modern day Enniskillen.

Following the Happy Prince’s request for the swallow to gift his second sapphire eye to the little match-girl the swallow vowed to stay with the Prince always. The next day he sat on the Prince’s shoulder telling him tales of Egypt and far away lands.
For this scene the swallow is sat on the shoulder of Cole’s Monument, I’ve given the monument a sprinkling o gold in honour of the tale. The background is one of the views you get of Enniskillen from the top of the monument. I chose this particular section of the view as it includes Portora School which is where Oscar Wilde could see the monument from his dormitory window, thought to be the inspiration for this tale.

A stunning statement piece of original art that has been professionally framed and is ready to hang.

Canvas 40cm x 50cm plus frame.
